I first sent an email to Volker on this. But let me put it on forum so all could comment.
I've come across a seller with an EFI Associates model 9000 tester (pictures below). I've written him to learn what documentation he has, ect. I understand the unit was working for him several years ago. But sounds like he doesn't know it well.
Could I ask your thoughts on desirability the tester? I see it is physically rather different than the model 9100 on Anders site members.rennlist.com/pbanders/testers.htm
What would you want to learn before purchasing? I'm not close to the seller. Any thoughts on price?

thanks for posting it here. I try to avoid answering direct emails to me as I want everyone to be able to contribute and learn form answers.
This tester looks different than the EFI 9100. It looks like a mixture of normal EFAW 228 style tester and simulator for testing ECUs. You can adjust RPM and temperatures, However it seems to work only with 4/6 cylinder engines (only 2 trigger points) and has no ability to switch between car models. As you can see from appendix B there are serious deviations between all cars. That is looks like it is only dedicated to certain models like the VW 1218 is to VW/Porsche or Bosch KD-JED 7500 is to MB.
What I would want to know before I'd buy it (it is a heavy price): Have a look at the manual and get a demo that it still works. I had to completely clean and fix 2 failures in my Bosch KD-JED 7500 before it ran.
Unfortunately those testers were not common in Europe, where people used Bosch testers.

Yes, I don't want to spend money on a nonfunctioning unit...
Seller will be getting me manual pages.
And I did find better picture of front of a unit on Google. It does show capability to do 4/6 or 8 cyl mode. And button settings on front seem duplicate the 9100's settings. But with different dial indicators and 9000 has a meter at top.

interesting, I considered it 4/6 cylinders only as it has only 2 trigger point lamps.. I did not recognize the switch on the left on the other photo. I would be interested to have a look at the manual. I do no tthink that it is mainly for testing in the car but for for diagnosis of ECU or MAP sensor via aimulation. Let's see, I am curious!
