a type 2 MAP sensor with broken diaphragm would enrich the mixture. Here we talk of a too lean mixture if I understand it correctly.
So I ask again:
- Is it correct MAP sensor?
- It it with rivets and is poting still original? A MAP sensor with screws or with a suspicious potting can have been detuned.
- What is the 3 digit number describing month of make on upper right rivet? A middle digit 4 or above is also suspicious as Boschs quality control on MAP sensor tuning in 80s to 2000s decreased
- And most important: Does it hold vacuum as described in chapter 4 video?

i have a lambda inovate 4.9 the top
at 985 rpm the engine is good but lambda at 68 the normal is 8.0
at 2200/2500 no benzine lambda in red.
3000/3500 rpm benzine +-ok lambda 7.8
3800 rpm +- benzine lambda 9.5
after 4000 rpm benzine is good
and higher up in the RPM full benzine

really a 049 ? Me and Norbert have written in this thread and I have written it in my ECU and MAP sensor article: A 044 or 052 ECU needs a 043 MAP sensor ! :RTFM: That was my 4th post in this thread. 049 is for 1.7 engine.
Please check all your components. Which color do your injectors have?

however it cannnot be the only fault. A 049 is richer than a 043. As I ran into another case on a 914 2.0 once: Please check that you have green injectors and not yellow ones. He also had yellow injectors and 049 MAP sensor.

what shall one learn from wrong lambda values of an engine with a completely detuned VW type 3 MAP sensor and a wrong 049 for an 1,7 engine? And we still do not know the manufacturing date of your MAP sensor.
My best advice is that you find a professional on 914 in Belgium and let them test your system. Otherwise we will soon have 100 posts and no result either. I am out.

I wrote already that 043 will not solve your problem as it is even leaner than a working 049. If I would believe that a 043 would easily solve your problem I would already have checked my stock. But I cannot guide you if you do not tell all facts and cannot reply to our questions. Such a process will not work.
You really need a workshop to look after your car.

Did you calibrate the sensor recently? It's not mounted correct and may catch condensate.
at 985 rpm the engine is good but lambda at 68 the normal is 8.0 Normal would be 0.91 to 0.93. Assuming your reading is 0.8 you run very rich if the engine is at operating temperature.
at 2200/2500 no benzine lambda in red. ??
3000/3500 rpm benzine +-ok lambda 7.8 This is also very rich, and far away from normal conditions.
3800 rpm +- benzine lambda 9.5
after 4000 rpm benzine is good What reading do you have here?
and higher up in the RPM full benzine
Would be also important at which engine load you generate the readings above. If in cruise condition, your full load enrichment will not be engaged at 4000 RPM.

as I wrote before 030 is just a code for the production date. Volker asked for the code because late productions are often faulty. Your unit is early produced, but not the correct fitment.
You need a MPS # 0 280 100 043 (search for 0280100043 ) for the original, not modified engine.
