Hi Volker,
you are right there is only a single vaccum hose connected for retard.
May be the distributor have been refurbished or modified sometime in the car history.
I will go with the 0 231 402 001 settings.

So you have 2 connectors from throttle body to ignition distributor. That is surprising as the old M116.981 for sure had a throttle body with just retard connection. If I am correct, advance connection on your ignition distributor should not be connected. In all other items it behaves like 0 231 402 001 distributor.

You were right the second vacuum connection is not used and not plugged.
There is a rubber to close it.

sorry that i have to bring this topic back to life & because it starts in english i will continue in the same language ...

I have exactly the same 0231402008 distributor in my ´72 350 SLC. The current ( original ) throttle hody has just one connection for retard advance. I am wondering now if it makes sense to change the throttle body to the later one with the 2 connections in both ( retard & advance ) ways.
What you suggest me & what will be the result / effect ? Is it worth the effort ?
