Do you know the 0231402008 distributor ?

Hello,

On my car (350 SLC from 72) I have a 0 231 402 008 distributor.
Does anyone know this part as it is not listed in the 07.5-500 checking and adjusting closing angle and firing point MB document.

So I am not sure which ignition timing values to use.

A strange thing is that on my car the engine is m116.981 type (usually on the 300 sel 3.5).
I don't know if the engine has been changed in the car's life, but the other djet componant seems correct ECU 0280002004, map 0280100012, inkjectors yellow.

that ignition distributor is said to be one for 350 engines and is named a replacement for 0 231 402 001 . But I have to check the real curves tonight on microfiche.

I try to find more informations on the EPC but they only identify distributors by MB reference not bosch.

this is not Mercedes-Benz but Bosch knowledge. The 0 231 402 008 has same rpm curve as 0 231 402 001. But it has a double vacuum with retard and advance. So you have 2 connectors from throttle body to ignition distributor. That is surprising as the old M116.981 for sure had a throttle body with just retard connection. If I am correct, advance connection on your ignition distributor should not be connected. In all other items it behaves like 0 231 402 001 distributor.
