Matching numbers for D-Jetronic components

Dear Sirs, I am the owner of a 914 1.7 USA Version, built early December 1969; thanks to this forum I got a lot of useful information to maintain and tune my car: now I would like to check the compatibility of components of D-Jetronic system of my car.
After I got the car I was compelled to replace the ECU because the injectors were switched on before the engine rotated, causing the flooding of spark plugs.
The ECU installed had a silver label: VW of America inc. and the following codes: 022 906 021 EX and 0 250 000 037 Rev. (see attachment); the a.m. codes seem not included in your data base and I ask you a comment on this matter; thereafter I sent the ECU to Auto Atlanta and I received back a revised ECU by Fuel Injection Corporation with the following codes: 022 906 021E and 0 280 000 037; the car is running well but I am curious to know if the ECU is the proper one for my car.

sorry I cannot greet you with your first name as you did not mention it.

Now when it comes to your old ECU numbers, they cannot be correct. There is no ECU with Bosch no. 0 250 000 037. All ECUs nos. start with 0 280 000 for 4-cylinder engines. So it seems that both are the same.

Volkswagen Partnumbers ending on "X" are factory remanufactured parts. So 022 906 021 EX is the remanufactured part for 022 906 021 E.
