Timing chain rails

I continue checking few components of my 1972 350SL. Today I spent some time with a timing chain and accessories.The chain is very firm, no stretch. I noticed that I do not have plastic rails but metal. I guess the metal ones were used only in early models? I think they look still good, see picture, but If my thought is right they have never been replaced yet. Although theoretically they should last more then plastic ones. I can not discover any service instruction when they should be replaced. For plastic ones I read somewhere 160kkm. Would you please give me any advise on this?

Another thing is that my oil nozzles where holding only one of 4. Ordered already new ones. At least because if this it was worth removing the valve covers.​

Thanks. Although I can speak German my technical vocabulary is close to zero. Key words gave me no results and my dictionary is nothing better. It may take weeks to find out a reply for my question.
