'73 Volvo 1800ES

I am trying to troubleshoot my D-Jetronic and after some search, I found this site. It is terrific with great information and a tremendous resource to help keep these systems going. Thank you for setting it up and making this information so accessible.

I do have a technical question: Is it possible to damage the ECU if the inputs from the air temperature sensor is shorted out i.e. the ECU sees 0 Ohms vs. the 200 Ohms normally?

interesting question. Looking at the wiring diagram I can say: Yes it is possible to damage the ECU's function block for air mass compensation.
