Dear members,

This is my first participation here.

I have a Bmw 3.0si bj 1974 with D-Jet.
The Car is running fine, very fast and powerfull, and since I found a good MAP (after 5 used ones) the Car os running smooth also.
The last fine tunning I need is to achieve a normal idle speed. I can't go below the 1200rpm. The tps was cleaned today and ajusted and it sticks on the 1200rpm (not 1900 anymore. The tps was not giving the zero throtle position).

I didn't check the water temp sensor yet.
The air temp sensor is ok.

O have red dot Ecu and blue dot Map. Is this a big problem.
The Car is responding to the ECU mixture adjustment knob.

All the exhaust and intake gaskets were replaced and fuel hoses also.
Auxiliar air valve new and not passing any extra air.

Any ideas?

Hi António and Welcome to the forum with your fine car.

My first suggestion is the throttle valve is misadjusted, i.e. it doesn't close totally.
Please check this.

Other reason could be the ignition timing at idle. Don't know the correct procedure for your car - you checked this?

Other reason could be wrong air, such as the vacuum brake booster itself or the hose towards it.

Misfitting components - don't know the correct pairing of ECU and MAP - will have influence to the mixture, but I suggest your MAP will be the base-type like the correct fitting one, if it is a BMW type.
Please post the Bosch part numbers - stickers are not so meaningful for us non-BMW-guys.
I would correct this because of the risk of high fuel consumption and engine damage.
Volker can possibly repair your original sensor and / or adjust it to the original values, he has references just for one BMW type, I remember.
This won't be really cheap because the components are expensive, but this will be a good investition.

you are most welcome with your car. From your profile I know that you are the president of "BMW auto clube Portugal". So it will be our pleasure to have you here. And thanks for the nice pictures. I am always curious how those cars look like. And BMW has an unorthodox way of placing components like intake manifold on top of engine or ignition distributor also on right top.

For your questions: May I ask you to open a seprate thread in D-Jetronic forum? I will be happy to answer there. Only so far: Do not misunderstand Norbert and pull MAP sensor electrical connector.
