Lucas Epitest

Does anyone know if the Lucas Epitest will work on a Mercedes with the D-Jetronic?

we like to call the others here by name....

The D-Jetronic at Jaguar is quite different from that in other cars.

The Jag tester would work on other D-Jet-cars only very partially - don't try it out. There are better ways to test your Mercedes using cheap and simple equipment. If you own a manometer and a multimeter, you can test everything a workshop can.

I have thhe Lucas as well but I never tried it on Mercedes-Benz. So I cannot say yes or no. But in principle the Lucas D-Jetronic is very similiar to the MB M110 engine D-Jetronic. Only the amplifier is something special. And second you will have the trouble that there is no manual available that tells you how to use it.

I would say: Try and see what happens.

I think Tim thought about buying the Epitest offered at ebay USA, about 650 $.

He wrote at last he would leave it alone... well done, maybe a Jaguar owner will buy it.

The earlier version of the EPITEST without the 25/35 pin adapter will work perfectly. However, the later version of the EPITEST with the 25/35 pin adapter will not work fully. You can however test some functions (ie injectors and certain sensors).
