1971 Mercedes 350SL ignition issues

My 1971 Mercedes 350SL won't start anymore 

The last few weeks it has developed a wars startup issue, where it won't rev. above idle, and cuts out.
But not I won't even start 

Last year I changed the cap, rotor, wires, coil and resistor.
The fuel pressure is 2,1 bar. And I can smell there is fuel.
When I put a cable and spark plugdirectly to the coil, it works, and I get a spark.
BUT no spark when I test with a plug after the distributor 
Where do I begin my troubleshoot ?

what is left: distributor rotor, and cap.

the rotor is bad.
You can see it on the first picture - burning marks around the outer finger sheet metal.
