Leaking fuelpump on 280SECoup3.5

I have a MB 280SE 3.5 Coupé-71.
My fuelpump is leaking and I may need to replace it. The original pump (OEM A0010917401) has 3 ports and replacement pumps( A0010917101) has only 2. Also, my fuel filter is in the engine compartment. 
Can I use the newer replacement pump, does it have the same performance and how to rearrange the hoses?
Can I leave the filter Alternative how to stop leakage, comes under one of electrical connections.

Hi Sven,

in principal it is possible to open and reseal also the early fuel pump. But you need force and it must be well applied. You have to take out head of pump from housing to replace O-rings. It is crimped. You have to open those crimps. But not too far, you want a round housing that you can close again.

When you replace with a new pump, pay attention to its maximum pressure. We habe a recommendation in D-Jetronic compendium.

I forgot: the 3rd line as reflow to tank would be closed then.
