Correct! But there is more. It is correct that it provides additional fuel during cold starts, but actually, the cold start valve has no link to and plays no part of the D-jetronic system and operates fully independent of the ECU (apart from certain BMW's), MAP sensor, temp. sensors, etc. It relies on a thermotime switch that operates without connection to the ECU.
