Hi
I have been struggling with my 1974 Mercedes 280CE M110 for a long time.. i just won't run..
I can idle if i disconnect the MAP/SDF. but as soon as i connect the vacuum to the MAP/SDF the engine just dies
I have vacuum testet the MAP/SDF and it holds Vacuum just fine. i have attached a picture of the connector, i don't know if it set in the right direction..
I have also adjusted the trigger points with Norbert Fischer's tool..
Any help pointing me in the right way, is much appreciated..

Hello Mads,
as i can see from your Pictures , the plug on your map sensor is the wrong way round. Put it in correctly and try again.
Best regards,

Hi,
turning the connector will unfortunately not help. It is cleverly wired in such a way that primary coil is on the outside and secondary on the inside. So twisting connector still keeps the same coil connected.
When you disconnect the MAP sensors vacuum line, you enrich the fuel mixture as it will then signal full-load pressure to ECU. If that helps to make your car run, you seem to have a mixture problem that you overcome by removing vacuum hose. Concluding now that the MAP sensor is the problem, is not a valid argument.
Have you checked ignition and fuel pressure in loop line first? Have a look at my checklist for systematic testing.
