D-jet tiggering. was created by 107merc
Put a degree wheel on my distributor to check the trigger points (see attached) and was surprised to see a gap
between the triggering events. Is this normal or is the lobe on the distributor shaft worn down??
Thanks.

Hi 107merc (would love to call you by 1st name),

this is correct. It does not matter, how long trigger contacts close. The closing point of contact triffers the injection. And other than ignition contact dwell is not important as we do not charge anything nside the ECU.

Hi, Welcome to the forum

The injection pulse is generated each time the contacts close - don't care about he time they stay closed.
The length of the injection pulse is 'calculated' by the ECU.
Trigger contacts only give the signal for starting the 'event'

Please read the basics in Volker's Compendium, you get all the information there.

Norbert

Thanks for responding. Getting ready to convert to Megasquirt and want to program Tuner Studio
to emulate pulse length of the original D-jet until we can do on the road tuning. Not ready to jump to full sequential yet.
Name is JD, car is 75 MBz, 280SL. Also changing to MAF and wasted spark, EDIS. M62 Kompressor to come in the future.
Thanks again. To make it more confusing my M110 manual calls them " release points"

Hi,

what I understand of Megasquirt, you would not use the trigger contacts but an crankshaft position sensor.

Hi Volker,
the 'megasquirt-gang' just meets at benzworld. org

So many conversions... would better install another (newer) engine.

Not our game...
