Good morning, thank for checking anyway, OK but can i use one from an earlier VW Type 3 say a 0 280 100 001 as i've located one in the US?

Hi Doug,

it depends on your ECU. You will find valid combinations here: jetronic.org/en/d-jetronic/mps#Liste

I see, my ECU is 0 280 000 019 so this is only compatible with 0 280 100 007, 008, 016 and 017 according to the table?

Hi Doug,

I only see 0 280 100 007 and 0 280 000 016 for high altitudes. So only 007 is the right choice if you do not live high up in the mountains.

Hi Doug,
I told you yesterday there are three ...007 units available at ebay.

Maybe they are all broken, but they are not expensive - a leaking diaphragma can be replaced and the coils <almost> never get defective.
