Hallo Freunde,

where do you dig out such intersting stuff? I knew that Isuzu had licensed Bosch's D-Jetronic. But I did not know in which models. When reading quoted articles, it even looks that Isuzu 117 EC Coupé even runs with the original D-Jetronic. But as I remember from research for my article History it was Isuzu, Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi licensing D-Jetronic and developing it further. Bosch left MPC (manifold pressure control) and switched to air volume measurement. Mechanically in K-Jetronic and electronically in L-Jetronic. Japanese car vendors must have sticked to MPC and used digital controls on it.

Keep researching further, Norbert !

Hello Norbert,
I was also surprised to get an inquiry on TPS printed circuit board for Isuzu 117 Coupe. As usual your website was informative !
I also recieved a picture from the TPS and it showed a new PCB design I never saw before. Look at the very small spaces between the tracks on the first part when opening the throttle valve. I assume this was done to get more fuel injected at smaller throttle valve opening. But this very small gaps between the tracks could cause earlier problems due to wear and contamination on the tracks. The owner of the Isuzu 117 Coupe in Japan will try to drive the car with TPS disconnected.
Will keep you informed.
Regards, Ton

Hi Ton,
the website is Volker's <Dr-DJet>.
I only opened the Isuzu-thread.

Your information and the photo are very interesting for me.
I don't think this TPS was produced by Bosch. The main-layout is close to the early versions Bosch produced, but the components are different from the Bosch ones.
It's no surprise for me, too the small gaps on the PCB tend to make problems.
I think, the guy should give the item a second chance after having cleaned and adjusted the two switches and - after cleaning the PCB - bending the contact finger just a little bit sideways.
I had to learn the board has to be kept clean from any oil or grease. Even using spray can cause contacting problems.

Regards
Norbert

Hello Norbert,

Just got a message from the owner of the Isuzu 117 EC in Japan. He replaced the printed circuit board (using the "standard" version I offer) of the first type of TPS units and he added my modifictaion with the diode. He is very happy with the performance now as the car now runs smoothly at constant cruising speed.
