Hi Charlie,
the TS you show us is misadjusted, I am sure. It is adjusted near the end position - this will not be correct.
Don't care about the corresponding rail /feeler for the idle contact (... it's no. 2 and the feeler on the right) because the contact at the flyer arm (the right, round one in your photo) closes the contact to earth <ground> via another feeler. Therefore this contact needs to be free of dust and corrosion, too.

Every kind of grease or spray could be bad for the function of the TPS. I had to learn this after having treated my own with a very good, expensive professional spray for contacts. After that I had problems in higher humidity.
This is because of the extremely low current. You can treat all other contacts with your spray, but not the PCB rails of the TS.

Adjustment of your type of TS is quite easy. With the throttle adjusted correctly and closed just loosen the screws a little bit. Turn the body of the unit at first counterclockwise, then clockwise till you feel some hindering. Then turn just a little bit further on and fasten the screws. Check the function by measuring continuity between pins 17 and 12.

Regards
Norbert
