Volvo 164 unstable idle

I repaired my engine harness yesterday, got it running with no more crispy insulation falling off, but I am still having some running issues. The car has a pretty inconsistent idle, especially when hot, and has a tendency to just die. I leaned out the mixture using the potentiometer on the ECU and the made the car die less, but hunt more. 
I have replaced condenser, points and coil since this issue started to insure it is not a spark issue.
The coolant temp sensor is reading correctly, there are no vacuum leaks, and the MPS seems to hold vacuum.
Any advice on where to look next is appreciated, still learning the system so I am unsure of the next step.

Hi Pieter,

u should start with ignition timing and dwell. Then check fuel pressure and exhaust gas. As far as I remember Volvo 160s have higher fuel pressure. Can u adjust exhaust gas via rheostat on ECU ?
