MAP sensor number

Hello Dr. DJet,

I have found on my MB 250 CE 1970 a MAP sensor, that looks to work well, with a number 0280100012, since correct number is 028010006 according to the table.
I have some problems with CO parameters, in idle run and in every speed.
Can you tell me if by tuning this MAP I can achieve parameters for my car?, Otherwise, can you provide, or help me find, the correct MAP for my MB 250 CE 1970?

Hi José,

and welcome to this forum from Chile. I must admit that I do not know much about Chile other that you have good red wines in recent years.

Regarding your MAP sensor there is no chance to tune it accordingly. In idle-run they are very similiar but the 012 makes a much richer mixture in part-load and full-load- its curve has a totally different slope.

I will check my stock again for the 025 MAP sensor. Before you buy any: Make sure it still has original potting, keeps vacuum (diaphragms tear very often) and has never been opened.

You should consider my MAP N° 0280100012 in any deal we can achieve, It is as original, never opened and never intervened, seal for tuning screw looks quite original. I follow your instructions and the MAP holds pressure and primary and secondary windings are according to test expectation.

I knew I had one 0 280 100 025 for 250CE, I just could not find it in my chaotic stock. Time to activate my stock management list

Now I opened all drawers again an there finally in the last corner it was. I also checked whether it holds vacuum and yes, it does! I will do a test bench verification tomorrow evening. And if it is okay, you can have it. However I am afraid of customs and transportation issues. Customs in Germany is a nightmare. They charge at least 19% VAT for everything above 22€ plus VAT on transport. And if you cannot prove the real value by an official bank transfer, Paypal etc. they estimate a high value and make you pay VAT for that.

Hopefully Chile customs is not as bad.
