Hallo Martin,

Das ist ein Bimetall mit Heizung, das während des Anlassens das Kaltstartventil ansteuert. Durch die Heizung öffnet das Bimetall bei mehrmaligem Anlassen.

Hallo Volker,

leider ist der TZS so tief unten verborgen, dass ich keine Chance habe, den zu fotografieren. Ich wühle mich morgen nochmals durch die Eingeweide hinunter zum Schalter, vielleicht schaffe ich es irgendwie mit Hilfe eines Spiegels oder Endoskopes die Werte herauszulesen.

Welche Werte hat denn der TZS für Citroen, den du hast?

Hallo Volker,
ich möchte noch mal kurz das Thema TZS aufnehmen. Mein 300SEL 3.5 springt zwar immer, aber nicht optimal an. Ich habe mal den/ die TZS gemessen.
Das Bimetall (W) öffnet bei Raumtemperatur nach spätestens 1-2 Sek, wenn ich die Heizung aktiviere (G), es ändert sich aber auch nichts bei -20°C aus der Kühltruhe, sind es auch 1-2 Sek. Eigentlich sollten es ca.9 Sek sein, richtig?

korrekt, bei -20°C sollte es durch die Heizung in 9,5 Sekunden abschalten.

Hallo,
die TZS haben wohl verschiedene interne Schaltungen - teilweise ist ein interner Widerstand im Schaltbild enthalten, teilweise nicht.
Möglich, dass dieser auf den Widerstand das Kaltstartventils angewiesen ist.

Ich würde das noch mal prüfen.

danke für die schnelle Antwort.
Dann habe ich wohl mind. 2 TZS mit dem gleichen Fehler.
Das ist zwar unschön, aber bis/ falls ich einen Ersatz habe/ finde, muss ich wohl damit leben. Die Heizwicklung hat ca. 30 Ohm.
Anscheinend "leiert" das Bimetall im Laufe der Dekaden aus.

Hello Volker,

Today I took pictures of my "Thermo-Timer Switch VDO 36/2/11" from my 1970 W114 250 CE . From this thread talk i understand that at -20 degrees Celsius, it switches after 9.5 seconds and that it can withstand a maximum temperature of 120 degrees Celsius. It's a so-called VDO-Fruh 3-watt version.

However, what is the limiting temperature for this /11 version? Is it also maybe  27 +- 5 degrees Celsius?

I did some cleaning and now indeed it is saying + 35 degrees +- 3 degrees. See picture. So on all 6 surfaces there is some text availble.

1) Is there a way to test this part outside the car that you can recommend?

drop in deep freezer at -20°, take out, measure connecting contact to housing via multimeter, apply 12V to heating and measure seconds until contact opens. If u want repeat test with TTS at 35°C.
