Dichtbeilage for intake manifold was created by rsadut
Dear All ,
Greetings from Istanbul.
My 107 is back to the mechanic' s shop.
I have disassembled the intake manifold to check the seals and replace them with new ones.
The rubber seal between the two parts of the intake manifold have the following part no according to MB: 117 140 02 65.
However what came out of my manifold is a wider seal and looks diffeent.
Since there are no marks on the seal I cannot find this part anywhere. (the only mark is EH and a globe with an arrow in the middle)
I would appreciate your comments
My manifolds are: 116 141 25 01 upper part; 116 141 22 01 lower part. Engine type is 116 982 3,5 L V8
The seal that came out of the engine is similar to the one in the attached picture.
Best Regards,
Juan

Hi Juan,
according to Teileinformation 116 140 25 01 should be lower part and 116 14031 01 upper part. A1171400265 would then be correct sealing-

Hi Volker,
When I wrote to the forum I did not check the upper and lower intake manifold part nos in the EPC.
I thank you and agree with the information you have given.
However my car has the upper intake manifold 1161412501 and lower one 1161412201. Pictures are attached.
Do you have an idea why my intake manifold nos are different?
I checked many engine types using 3,5 V8 from w111 (111026-111027), w108/109, w116 including US versions.
They all use the same 'Zwichenstück' rubber seal/grommet 117 140 02 65.
Usually MB shows If there have been any changes in the part nos. For this one I cannot see previous nos.
I was just wondering If the thicker rubber seal/grommet can be identified and found.
I am attaching the pictures of the two together for comparison.
The thicker rubber has the letters EH with an arrow going through the the silhoutee of the world.
The one on the left is ,,,0265 from MB. The one on the right is what I have.
I have also checked my friends car which is waiting to be rebuilt 116992 engine
It has the same thicker rubber like mine.
There are pictures available on the net with both type of seals.
Best Regards,
juan

Hi Juan,
casted parts often have nos that are for raw part and are not the MB no for finished part. As MB names only one donut seal for your manifold I would use that. But let us see whether Christian has a different opinion.

...the rubber grommet you have found in the manifold is the first version A 116 141 0082 replaced by A 117 140 02 65 a long long time ago, so it´s time to replace them !
you cant use the cast numbers to identify the intake parts, they are not part numbers !!!!
