Weinig power in niedriche UPM 500SL was created by Luckyluke
Hi,

I have a lack of power on my 500SL in the low RPM's (1200 - 1800 RPM), and he is not running smouth
Fuel distributor, pressure regulator are renewed/new seals. I also put in new spark plugs and injectors are cleaned.
Could this be the potentiometer?
Resistence between point 1 and 2 is 0 kohms (idle) to 8 kohms (full opening of sensor plate)
Thanks, Luc

Hi Luc,

for a quick test can you please remove connector on KE ECU? Then your car will run like a normal KA-Jetronic car without any electronics. Let us know whether that improves the situation.

Hi Luc,

if the problem persists after removing ECU connector, it is a problem that does not involve KE including potentiometer.

If I read correctly you changed fuel distributor and other components. Then you must verify and adjust ON OFF ratio.

The only thing that can be involved are fuel pressure, air flow sensor and fuel distributor plus EHA in resting mode. The easiest is if you start with idle mixture screw and ON-OFF ratio. Try to adjust ON-OFF ratio to swing around something like 50% and check deviation between 2500/min and idle. That must not deviate by more than 10%.

If you cannot achieve that, we will check further.
