Correction- I meant the MAP sensor held no vacuum at all, but thank you for confirming the AAV does not affect richness.

Hi,

the longer I think about it I believe that one or more injectors are leaking while engine stands. Then manifold is full of fuel and corresponging cylinders start badly and you smell fuel. Only cold start valve is also possible. It could spray even after starting engine. Close the fuel line to it to verify. Engine will start slowly but it will start with a bit of help of gas pedal.

I do not believe that a temperature sensor delivers false values while cold and good values when hot. But it is easy to measure on ECU connector. Resistance cuvers are in my compendium. Your thermo time switch is special and has other values than most thermo time switches from VDO or Bosch for D-Jetronic.

Thank you very much for your consideration. I was planning on having the fuel rail and injectors inspected and overhauled at some point- I may look to have this done sooner. Would this affect low cold idle ? Thanks again.

I don't think so.
Following Bosch, the replacement for the 0280130212 is/was the 0280130214 or the electronic F 026 T03 100

Regards
Norbert

Hallo Norbert,

Bosch has also stated that VDO thermo time switches can be replaced by Bosch versions 0280130218 and F026... But 1st version has different connector and 2nd version also always switches for min 1sec when there is nothing to switch. I base my words in my research in jetronic.org/en/d-jetronic/jaguar .

Of course you can ignore switching times and temperatures. But then you can also install a K-Jetronic thermo time switch.
