Dear all,

I have a question for 250 CE owners. Is my distributor turned too far counterclockwise, so the pulse generator connector is touching a straight spark plug socket? Or should I just buy a right-angled spark plug socket (elbow version)?

Do you have a right-angled or straight one in your car?
P.S. To properly access cylinder 1 with a spark plug socket wrench, I need to remove the pulse generator. Is that normal?

Regards, Marc.

Hi Marc,
your distributor is installed incorrectly.
Maybe you have to pull it and reinstall it in correct position - maybe you can just turn it and correct the position of the ignition cables.

I will look for an instruction, but need some research.
Maybe one of our Mercedes M114 guys can help.

Regards
Norbert

Hi Norbert,

Thanks for your fast reply.
I have a feeling that i have to turn my distributor maybe 360/6 = 60 degrees clockwise.
Many thanks in advance for any research you can find.

Ps i have distributor Bosch 0 231 301 015

Greetings Marc

Hi Marc,
following the only figure I could find you have to turn it by 180° - the trigger-connector is in the front.

Hi Norbert,

I think this is not possible because then my vacuum box will touch my engine. To all picture i found on the internet the vacuum box is pointing to the front bumper of the car.

Gr Marc

Can't see the orientation of the vacuum-unit in the photo of your engine...

Thanks Norbert for your efforts so far.

Maybe other owners of 250 CE can have also a picture.
Below a picture of my car.

Greetings Marc
