250 CE W 114 mounting position ignition control unit / transistor zundanlage was created by Marinus
Hi all,
I spend many hours hours on the internet for a good picture to see where for a 250 CE W 114 the transistor ignition control unit is fixed to this type of car.
Who can help me with a good picture (or discription).
Many thanks in advance
Marc

Dear people,
At the local scrapyard I found a mounting bracket for my 250 ce transistor ignition box with a piece of original wiring (I think).
I made a drawing because I want to install new cables. However, I saw that both the green/yellow cable and the black cable had a steel shielding.
1) is shielding REALLY necessary for both cables?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi Marc,
originally there was no shield. But it is a good idea to use it on pin 7 and remove capacitor on distributor.

Thanks Volker,
I will make only 1 shielded cable from breaker contacts distributor (the green/yellow cable) to the connector on terminal 7. The connector terminal 7 itself is maybe 5 cm to the transistor ignition box connector, so this little part will have no shielding. And i will remove the capacitor in my distributor.
Further i will not have shielding for the black cable with runs from the ignition box connector pin 16 to the resistance 0.6 Ohm.
Greetings Marc
