Bosch motortester kte0102

Hi ,
I bought the bosch engine tester or multimeter shown in the picture. How can I check the distributor closing angle and ignition timing of my mercedes w114 280E d jetronic vehicle? What should these measurements be according to the technical information of my vehicle's engine? Advance adjustment? How can I use this device simply? It should not be forgotten that I am not a mechanic. Therefore, I want to understand how to do it simply according to my level of knowledge. Thank you for your comments.

Hi Kerim,

you will find the manual for this tester at Bosch Classic histroical Tester

Ignition timing is

• Adjust to 32° @ 4500/min without vacuum connected
• Verify idle TDC +/- 2° without vacuum
• Verify 1500/min 14°-19° without vacuum
• Verify 3000/min 32° without vacuum
• vacuum retard at idle 8-12°

Hi Kerim,
Volker forgot the closing-angle (has to be controlled / adjusted at first):

Closing angle M110: control value 39-42 degrees (65-70%), setting value: 42 + - 1 degrees (70 + - 1%)
