Ignition coil problem for D-jetronic W116 was created by Ortolani
My W116 280SE D-Jetronic is low on performance. I suspect the ignition coil, which has a resistance of 3.5 ohms in the primary. Would anyone know what the primary resistance of the W116 D-Jetronic ignition coil should be?

Hi Marcos,
I would prefer ou would sign with your name as we like it here... found yor name in an older posting.
---
I don't think the coil is the reason for bad performance.
A coil is operating or not operating - there is no 'bad operating' condition.
And the coil of the M110 straight-6 isn't operated under so stressy conditions as those of the V8-engines.
---
You should check one thing besides the D-Jetronic and the ignition at first:
- Does the throttle really open full when you kick down the pedal?
There are plastic parts that break away...
Another thing is the full-load-contact in the TPS. Does it contact? Read in the compendium how to check this or ask again.
Oh... I didn't answer you question, but you should check this first.
Regards
Norbert

Hi,
May I refer you to our Netiquette ?
@Norbert: How would you know the first name of user ortolani ?
You will find coil values in our 107 SL workshop manual in chapter 07.5-520 . It is the same coil as the one for M116/M117 .
