Porsche 914/4 2.0 was created by Stojan
Hi everybody!
My name is Stojan and I have a Porsche 914/4 2.0 registered in July 1973 that ran very well for 7,000 km after careful adjustments.

After about 5 km with three cylinders, due to a disconnected wire on the first cylinder's injector and after turning it off, I could not start it again. I bought it with a manifold No. 0280100101 - certainly not original but extensively repaired and adjusted with patience over time - the engine ran fine, except a little high CO2 (about 5-6%). The MAP gave 90 ohms on the primary coil and nothing on the secondary. The 7 doesn't close the circuit on the 11.

As per your valuable instructions, I would need a MAP type 2 0280100043 to test if the engine starts. I've already checked all the other components, which are working, except the Bosch 336003008 cold start thermistor, which isn't reporting anything.Thank you for your kind attention and support.
Best regards, Stojan

Hi Stojan,

MPS 0280100101 is completely wrong for 914 2.0 . It is a type 3 MPS for Volkswagen Type 3. Which ECU do you have installed? Your MPS should match that ECU.

Dear Dr-DJet,

thank you for your quick feedback!
I would ask you, if possible, to provide me with payment details for a MAS type 2 0280100043 suitable for my model. The MPS 0280100101 took 20 minutes to vacuum test the membrane from -05 to -045 vacuum.
Regarding the ECU, I believe it is original and there is no reference code on the silver label. However, I found an RT 324 marked on the casing.
I would also like to ask you if you would be willing to check the proper functioning of my ECU, along with the MAS.
The thermistor is nothing more than the air temperature sensor around the engine, mounted on the sheet metal next to the distributor (Bosch part no. 336003008, VW311906161C), which shuts off the enrichment flow at 35 degrees. Unfortunately, mine is completely dead, but I would like to restore proper functioning.
I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Stojan

Hi Stojan,

for a European Porsch 914 2.0 you could have 2 different ECUs and they must be properly paired with 0280100037 or 0280100043. So u must find out which ECU u have.

Please be informed that I will move till end of 2025 and cannot assist with testing ECU. I might have a chance to grab right MPS from my drawers if we can identify needed MPS before I pack that stock soon. Then also that will be unavailable. I am sorry and ask for understanding. As of February I should be able to access my drawers again in new location.
