JAguar XJS HE 6cu fuel pump circuit

G'day from Australia,

I have a Jaguar HE with lucus 6cu ECU.  It has the infamous Fuel Pump failure in the ECU.  

Does someone have any circuit Diagram, information, guides, specs or Anything on this repair.  I have an electronics background so wish to 
repair this myself as it is not practical to send the unit away.  I also know several other owners with same issue who would like to repair themselves.

Hi Paul,

I am afraid that 6CU is a Lucas ECU and not Bosch D-Jetronic. I recommend to contact AJ6 Engineering.

but with covid it would be a 6-12 month turnaround.

Does anyone have any ideas, is the pump control circiut the same? I believe the 6cu as based on the bosch design.

Hi,

as far as I know they are not the same. D-Jetronic is Bosch ECU (brand labeled by Lucas) and 6CU ist Lucas own development with integrated MAP sensor. That's all I know and read an AJ6 website. Never seen a 6CU ECU. I am afraid that I am even not curious as I stick to the Bosch (D-,K-,L-) Jetronic series. If you want to fix yourself you will have to reenigneer your ECU as I did for D-Jetronic ECUs. Or you try on Jaguar forums. YOu mentioned it is a common failure and that gives hope that someone already published its cause there.
