BMW E9 3.0CSi D-Jetronic parts repair was created by tomasz78
Hello Everyone.

I am a new person here. My problem concerns my BMW E9 3.0CSi, which is currently under restoration. When I bought the car, it was very bad condition, not running or driving. Therefore, I don’t have any idea if parts of D-Jetronic work or not. I would like to get information who can help me with checking and reparing my BMW’s D-Jetronic elements, such as ECU, MAP sensor, AAV, pressure regulator and other parts of D-Jetronic. Any advice is very welcome.

Kind regards,
Tomasz.

Hi Tomasz,

any Bosch service can help with ECU and MAP sensor. They handle it cia Bosch Classic. Pressure regulator cannot economycally be repaired. AAV can be done.

Hi Tomasz,
it would be interesting to know where you are located.

Concerning the tests I would recommend to do the basic testing by yourself.
You don't need much or expensive equipment to do this.
You need a multimeter, a manometer and a simple vacuum-pump for bleeding brakes.
All together at less than 50 Euro - and you find the instructions for the testing here.

Maybe you want to test and clean the injectors, - there are 'ASNU'-service-points in almost every country.

You will have to replace all fuel hoses and the filter definitly.

Regards
Norbert

Add: You have to verify the part numbers of all components. Quite often parts meant for other car models and brands were installed in the past just to keep the cars running. Maybe this helped in the situation - but the result is a misconfigured setup that could even ruin the engine.
You could ask Bosch classic service for a component list for your car.
If you find other parts installed, you could ask us - maybe they are compatible. Bosch doesn't tell you this.

Hello Norbert.

Thank you for your answer and advices. I would like to test MAP sensor and AAV myself. If I find them faulty, I will be sending them for repairs. I am located close to Warsaw, Poland. Thank you once again.

Regards, Tomasz.

Hi Tomasz,
I asked you for your location because it's nearly impossible to ship outside the EU zone at this time...

You can do the basic MPS-testing the way Volker describes here in section 4.4: jetronic.org/en/d-jetronic/mps

I think the simplies way to remove the AAV is to remove the whole intake manifold.(???)
You can check it by yourself, you find the information you need here: jetronic.org/en/d-jetronic/aav

Regards
Norbert
