BMW auxiliary air system was created by cwestcot
Hi I and restoring a BMW bavaria, it has a m30 motor with d jetronic FI. There is an auxiliary air valve for warm up fuel air adjustments . It is attached to the cooling water system. There are also two electrical connections to the harness from the extra air valve. There is a bottom set of two wires and a right side connection of two wires. The bottom connection is to what seems to be a temperature sensor. I housing of this connection is broken. I am having issues with making the connector stay on with out a the housing. I looked for the part on real oem with out success. Can the sensor be replaced? I could take it off and hard solder a connection but it would be nice to replace the part. Is the connection deletable? Can I leave it off? the air valve should close with out it. I dont know the purpose of the electrical connections to the computer, perhaps it is unnecessary or can be removed? thannk you, this site is awesome. Id be aspirated with out it.. Carl

the D-Jet AAV doesn't have any electrical connectors. Maybe your car isn't D-Jet-equipped at all, maybe someone did modifications in the past.
Please make photos of the situation and post them here, otherwise we will not be able to help you.
The part you are looking for could be a temperature sensor or the thermo-time-switch. Replacement or a substitute is available in any case, but we need more info.
Regards
Norbert

Hi Carl,
your AAV is a mechanical cooling water based device. If you can read the Bosch no of the device you have installed.
