Dear people,
In the A1 table of components for my car there is mentioned a Distributor finger A 000 158 22 31 with the remark :resistor 5 Kohm.
I just put on my car a new cable set Beru ZEF 364
Before installing i measured
- the resistance of all 6 cables with sparkplug connector resulting in values between 1,1-1,4 KOhm
- the resistance for the cable from coil to distributor cap value 1,0 KOhm
The original cable with sparkplug connector had printed 5KOhm on the connector but from this thread i learned that i also can use 1 kOhm (as long they all have the same resistance connector)

For the distributor cap i am aiming for a bosch 1 235 522 195 (A 00 158 5002)
For the rotor i am also aiming also for a bosch 1 234 332 173 (5 kOhm)
At the moment i have NO transistor ignition but i am aiming to have it installed in the nearby future
1) Does it really have to be a 5 KOhm rotor because the 1 kOhm (bosch nr 1 234 332 346 ) is the substitute of the 1 234 332 173 by Bosch and availble?
2) Does it matter if your car has conventional ignition or transistor with respect to resistane fingers and spark plug connector?
Looking for your answers.

Hi Marc,
in early years Mercedes and Bosch used 5 kOhm spark plug connectors and rotors. Later they switched to 1 kOhm. Do not mix and it will work.

Then i will order also 1 KOhm rotor.
So now cables and rotor are 1 KOhm
