LPG

Hello,

I own a mercedes 350 SL 1972 with D Jetronic.
I have a question.
I want to change the car from running petrol to LPG.
Therefore I have to switch the D Jet off.
My idea is to switch it fully off by interrupting the main relay.
When I do so the Injectors as well as the pump are switched off.
Do you think this is a good idea or are there better possibilities?

Hi,

you could also just disable power to pin 24 of ECU. That will inhibit the injector drivers. Thus fuel pump will continue to run and you do not need to build up fuel pressure again.

I am thinking also practical, so what is the most practical place to disrupt the power.
I thought maybe fuse nr 14?

Hi Geert,

well it depends. If you want to ride on gas for a long time, you interrupt 15 (ignition) to main injection relay. That will switch off ECU and fuel pump. You will find the plan for that in our Download section.

For short term I would discoonect pin 24 between this relay and ECU.
