Hi,

in pre-catalytic cars one would expect CO % times 100 ppm as HC. So 2% CO and 200 ppm HC roughly.

no need to switch on ignition. When you keep ignition on for long, it will grill your ignition coil and power resistors and ignition module.

I read your answer to another question on the forum about the Map sensor.
You said that the map sensor vacuum clock should be - 0.5 bar while the car was idling at idle. I measured with the clock. It increased to -0.3 bar when the vehicle was cold, and -0,4.5 bar after warming up. Is this normal? Does it pose a problem? Or should I increase the amount of air from the intake manifold adjustment screw to -0.5 bar?

Merhaba Kerim,

-0.45 Bar is a bit low for an engine in idle. It should be -0,5 or more.

During warm up, AAV adds more air and is a bypass to throttle. That is why a lower vaccuum is correct then.

I tried again today at idle to measure the minus pressure of the map sensor. The result is again ( -0.45 bar). Then I increased the air intake from the idle air adjustment screw under the intake manifold. In this way, when the air intake increased, the map sensor pressure became (-0.5 bar). Is this a correct action? Should it stay this way?

Merhaba Kerim,

everything starts with correct ignition dwell and timing plus idle rpm. Then you can measure. Increased idle speed will decrease vacuum.
