Hi,
this thrread is for my friends in the US!
It seems to be your national sport to detune MAP sensors, especially on Mercdes-Benz 450 engines like 450SL, 450 SEL or 280 SE 4.5 . I do no know what you guys hoep for. But for sure you will not get better performance but worse. I have seen many cars retruning to Germany with such detuned MAP sensors that would not pass local emission tests.
I also see many MAP sensors with missing black cover or lid or askew cover sold as "core" or "was pulled from running engine" on eBay. This is scrap!
Please my friends stop detuning all those nice MAP sensors from Bosch. They do not detune by itself and are normally unbreakable. Leave them in peace, PLEASE.
