280E W114 ignition timing

Hi,

I received following question from Kerim

2) What should be the advance gun value when the vehicle is idling?

please let me know your distributors Bosch no. But you cannot adjust vacuum advance. It is fixd. Will let you know exact value when I see your no.

When adjusting the advance, will the vacuum hose be installed on the distributor?

Hi dr volker,
without vacuum = means remove the vacuum hose from the distributor while measuring. is this correct? that is, the vacuum hose is not connected during the measurement while making the advance adjustment.
