Small world. I have also just noticed today that I also do not have vacuum advance even if the vacuum box holds vacuum. I believe the switch you refer to is a so-called change-over switch which adjusts ignition timing (vacuum) when the A/C is engaged in order to account for the additional load on the engine from the compressor. If you do not use the A/C system I think it should be possible to route the vacuum line directly from the distributor to the outlet on the throttle housing. I’m trying this tomorrow. It is important that you check that the vacuum line and rubber connections are tight and crack-free.

es ist richtig, dass es ein Umschaltventil gibt, das bei aktivierter Klimaanlage der US 450er die Spätverstellung des Zündverteilers abschaltet.

Peter however has a different problem. His distributor does not change timing even if vacuum is applied.

Das Rätsel des Schaltteils ist nun klar - Klima und der Motor hebt auch leicht die Drehzahl wenn ich die einschalte, scheint auch zu funktionieren.
Natürlich habe ich in den Foren nach korrekter Zündeinstellung gesucht - Unterschiedlichste Angaben, mal vor ot mal nach........
Ist es tatsächlich korrekt, dass im Leerlauf kein Unterdruck an der Verteilerdose anliegt? - das macht mit dem wenigen, was ich über Zündung weiß keinen Sinn.
Wo finde ich verlässlich die Einstelldaten:
Grad vor oder nach nach im Leerlauf,
bzw. mit oder ohne angeschlossener Unterdruckleitung.
Prüfen der Verstellung bei welcher Drehzahl
