R107 Fuel Damper was created by Russells107
Hi,
Hope you can help, I have a R107 280Sl 5th month 1976, running a M110 andD jetronic, the fuel damper has the inlet from the tank and the outlet to the filter, there is also a small pipe (That is blocked off with a piece of hose and stopper in the end). Should there be a hose connected to the small pipe? or has someone changed the damper to one from a different model?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Russell

Hi Russell,
are we talking fuel pressure regulator or fuel damper? Fuel damper only has an inlet and an outlet, no 3rd connection. Best is if you tell us the Bosch number of the product in question.

Hi Russel,
it seem that your car has the wrong fuel damper. As Volker already mentioned - the damper should have only 1 inlet and 1 outlet.
This is the damper from my 280SLC from 75 with D-Jetronic. It should be the same for your car. One hose will go to the pump and the other one goes directly to the tank.
It should be possible to find them on ebay as a 2nd hand part. From what I know they can't brake. There is no membrane on the inside or anything else that can get damaged.
regards
Sven

Hi Sven,
I think that Russell talks of the pulsation damper after pressure regulator in engine area. Should be a 0 280 161 xxx number then.

Hi Guys, Many thanks for your help and Sven, you're right, is the pulsation damper i am asking about and the MB part number is 116 4700516, looks like someone has fitted the incorrect part, Will having this Pulsation Damber affect the running of the car in any way or should I try to find the correct damper?
Thanks again,
Cheers Russell

Hi Russell,
well this part is for damping noise on the suction side of fuel pump. It does not really affect engine run.
