Hi,
I am not sure what we really see on this diagram. If it is a test stand and we see an acceleration, lambda 0.9 might be correct. Norbert remember acceleration enrichment. So we need to know more of how this cycle was run.
Early MAP sensors until 71 had screws instead of rivets. You will then find the date of manufacture on the back side of the housing after cleaning it.

Hi Volker,
the diagram shows the protocol of a dynometer-situation.
Full throttle is given from start to end - the acceleration-enrichment-extra-fuel is gone before the diagram starts.

Hi Norbert,
even then: Full-load enrichment also means rich mixture. That is what the diahphragm in MAP sensor is made for. When accelerating or in full-load even modern cars leave lambda 1.

Oh yes, Volker-
I didn't realize that.
Therefor this dyno situation is not very useful in finding out the reason for high fuel consumption.
The engine had to be tested in partial load situation, maybe the range from about 20 hp to 80 hp. I think, this is the range that matters in normal driving.

I have removed your links to copies of people who have stolen my method of verifying a leaking MAP sensor and publish it without reference on Youtube.. What sense does it make to link that here when I have originally done that years ago in chapter 4. And please don not put further meaningless garbage pictures of test stands without a meaning here.
